MYRIBASIN helps calculate the sustainability index of river basins’ in Malaysia from different criteria such as Environmental, Social & Health, Governance, and Economics. Each criteria consists of indicators (Pressure, State, Response) developed based on quantitative measurements or statistics of environmental conditions tracked over time.

The scores from four of the criteria will produce an overall score of a river basin which helps to provide insight into the state of the environment or human health. The indicators can be developed and used at various geographic scales, from local to regional to national levels.
