- Malaysia River Basin Sustainable Index (MyRIBASIN) is a comprehensive sustainable river basin performance profile system created with financing from the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) by the Centre for Environmental Sustainability and Water Security (IPASA). The index assesses the current state of river basins and their performance based on four criteria: environmental, social and health, governance, and economic. Three sub-criteria have been chosen within the environmental criteria: water quantity, land use change, and water quality. All sub criterion uses the Pressure-State-Response (PSR) framework to depict interactions within the concern issue and to establish a continuous feedback system that can be viewed and used to enhance the existing state. 21 indicators were chosen from among these four criteria and seven sub-criteria.
- The MyRIBASIN research team is grateful for funding from UK Research and Innovation’s Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) [grant number: ES/S008179/1], and UTM High Impact Research [grant number: Q.J130000.2451.09G03].
